Year Round Fishing
Anglers will enjoy a wide variety of great fishing along 26 miles of beautiful Rollins Lake shoreline. Located 16 miles from the I-80/Colfax Hwy 174 exit at the end of You Bet Road, the lake boasts rainbow and German Brown trout, and Kokanee, as well as small and large mouthed bass, crappie, bluegill, Sacramento Pike Minnow and large catfish. Catchable rainbow trout are planted every other week each Spring from the 1st of April until May 1st.
Rollins Lake has 66,000 acre feet of water when full with a surface area of 840 acres. The lake has a maximum depth of 270 feet near the dam and features a thermocline where trout can thrive during the summer. The lake is fed from the Bear River and Greenhorn Creek.
Peninsula offers a day use fishing area from the shore, as well as lakeside campsites that provide around-the-clock fishing enjoyment. The Store carries mini- and large nightcrawlers and an assortment of fishing tackle. One and Two-day fishing licenses can be purchased between Memorial Day and Labor Day while supplies last. Our Marina offers 14ft Klamath aluminum fishing boats with 8 hp motors (See Boating webpage under Recreation for pricing information)
We encourage parents and children to come to the store to have their picture taken with their prize catch of the day. We'd love to be able to put the picture on the this website (with your permission of course).
